Indi and I were preparing for the GGB exam, but at the last moment I discovered that we could not do it without the SHH certificate first. Yes sure, I said, as soon as I find out what it is! SHH stands for Sociale Huis Hond, literally "Social House Dog", and it's the base for all disciplines in the FHN, the Dutch DogSports Federation. The certificate is to show that the dog is social, used to everyday life and under the control of the owner. In the video you will see Indi walking on the leash, ignoring noise, food on the ground (barely!) and visual cues (the ombrella), meeting people, and showing his teeth. The last part of the exam is not in the video: walking on the leash and recall with other dogs around, and wait for a minute in a group with distractions. Well, our result was: GESLAAGD/PASS!
Next step will be either the GGB exam or the pre-beginners in obedience, depending on how well the training will go. Here a small table with the differences between the two associations (there's a third Club in Holland that follows FCI rules, it's where we compete in agility):
